This sculpture is a community piece and involved over 20 local craftsmen. It was commisioned to commemorate the Queen's diamond jubilee. The piece takes the form of 'standing stones' and althought modern, has an ancient style. The shapes of the stones are the 11 letters that spell Lostwithiel. The letters function as a set of table and chairs and has proved very popular as a picnic table. This is a good example of public art that interacts with the community. |
